I am Illyria, God-King of the Primordium, and that is all you need know. But I will be generous. I will tell you more. Long has passed since my day of rule. My kingdom is lost. And I find myself revived within the form of a human, creatures that only those baser than myself bothered with killing.

Her name is Winifred Burkle. And day by day, more of her memories fill my head. I find that I have acquired emotions and I am unsure if this is her doing, but I speculate that it is. I am not sure if this is a weakness or a strength. Wesley, my former...ally and tutor in the ways of the modern world would probably view it as a strength. No, this is a falasy. He...would have most likely viewed it as both.

The fragment of Winifred Burkle's soul that remained alive and present when I took control of her form has grown within me. She has regained a presence here. Sometimes she takes control of this vessel. But we cannot regulate this cycle ourselves.

I speak too much. Know that you take a risk by approaching. Who you come to converse with may not necessarily be who answers you.

Well, sure. It’s a story. Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived all alone in a horrible cave - so far from home that it made her chest hurt. And every day in that horrible cave, the girl tried to figure out a way to escape. None of her plans ever succeeded, of course and she’d almost given up hopin’ when one day, just like in a fairy tale, a handsome man rode up on a horse and saved her, and took her back to his castle. Now, you’d think that was the end, wouldn’tcha? Dumb old fairy tales and their “happily ever after’s”. But, see, the minute they got back to the castle, the handsome man went away again. And even though she didn’t mean to - didn’t want to - high up in that castle the girl just built herself another cave, hoping that he would save her again.
